I have unbelievable gaydar. I'm beginning to notice that many closet gays are using metrosexuality as a cover so they can be themselves while still remaining "straight". There are some real metrosexuals, but it's easy to tell that those people would be willing to take a walk on the gay side if given an anonymous opportunity.

With the onset of shows like "Queer eye" many of the lines are getting blurred. I have had great “Gaydar” in the past, but am finding the initial “curb appeal” of many straight men to be deceiving. That being said, Many men are sexual hounds, they will allow sex with other men quite easily without ever entertaining the idea of leaving their straight life, married or not. My personal experience is that if you’re ok with yourself, then everyone else is ok with you too. I am not feminine by most descriptions of the word, I drive a pick up, wear NON fashion popular clothes (not that I wouldn’t like to dress better, just too lazy to effort). YET, I am great with interior design, and good at putting together the right outfit when I have the energy, and generally have a good eye for anything to do with style. Most people don’t know that I am Homosexual until I tell them, I don’t hide it, but I don’t wear it on my sleeve either, there is more to me then my sexuality. I think that this Metrosexual your describing has benefits mostly for feminine men that are either homosexual, straight, bi, or curious. The flip side is that it makes it harder for the rest of the world to determine if they're an appropriate target for relations

Metrosexuallity is uncommon but I don't see it being used as a cover for homosexuallity. I also happen to have a very in tune "gaydar" and I don't see homosexuals claiming to be metro. I do however see plenty of gays claiming to be bisexual in order to make other guys around them feel comfortable

It's very exciting to discover a new term emerging, to suit the evolving climate. It's a cry out that we are restricting ourselves with category, and therefore language. Instead of this yearning to fix our identities, in order to belong, why not renounce the whole notion of labels! Just behave, confuse, resist pigeon-holing; challenge superficiality! Let us not be further restricted by the confines of just another category. The Absolute Darlings, a band everybody wants to be near, are celebrating this!

I love to dress tight jeans. I got a great shape, very much like a sexy girl except for that I don't wear bra. I wear high heels because it makes my body posture looking good. I don't think I'm metrosexual cause I don't have a lot of money to spend. I guess lots of people thinking I'm kind of gay, but I have no sexual interests in any other man. I DONT CARE WHAT OTHERS SAID. I DO WHAT I WANNA DO. FEEL GREAT AND LIVE HAPPY.

what about ethymology of this form, does anyone have some interesting insights? btw it's funny observing this concept (probably much more aged in western europe and north america) spreading around czech and slovak republic (in-between which I live) until last year, it seems that causes can be found in greater possibilities for life-style options and in tendency for more structured social differentiation... anyway, I don't understand why page for metrosexuals in popular czech magazine "reflex" does ALWAYS have to feature informations about perfumes! (well, maybe I should understand but...)
