First of all, some of your entries were hysterical. This is an interesting topic. I went out with this guy Noland, he's always had women and wanted to marry me, but he was "metrosexual". He dressed very nice, his shoes always looked new, always clean cut, very nice fabircs, silk, leather, suade, nice jewelry, manicures, contact lenses, leather bag. But I Have to admit, I thought he was gay.....my gay-dar was at such a high pitch when he was around, i'm sure only dogs could hear it. I don't think we ever had a conversation where he didnt mention something about "gay"....this gay guy on his job....did you know such and such was gay....someone told me they think im gay....! I believe this guy was in denial.------- The other guy I went out with was Angel. Now Angel was definitly metrosexual...beautiful taste in clothes, shoes, household items. We dated for three years and almost got married, but we argued a lot over money and he was very selfish, so we split. Far as I know he still deals with women (he slept with my ex best friend a few months back...asshole) I honestly never thought he was gay. A lot of my friends did though, male and female. I think the term metrosexual applied very well to him.------- I dont think that men who like to take care of themselves, dress really well, get their hair colored or permed, get manicures, pedicures and massages should be labeled gay. Thats unfair. If they can afford it and want to take care of themselves that way, thats their perogative. ------- HOWEVER, I think the term metrosexual does seem to imply that it has something to do with their sexuality, therefore giving people theopinion that they are gay or bi.------------ In RESPONSE to the guy who has 4-somes with his cousin and her husband (first of all, your cousin? thats nasty) but if you can masturbate another man while he masturbates you, like you mentioned, you are gay. or at the VERY least...bisexual. No straight man would jerk another man off in a million years. Many straight men I know won't even get in the bed with another man for a threesome....two women, of course....another man, and a woman....there are some serious rules that would need to be established.

Just a side comment on the Gaydar bit, that and "Feminine Intuition" are overrated. - People have mistaken me for a homosexual far too often, and women are quick to assume that I have romantic designs on them, simply because I'm extra nice and sensitive to them. -- All creatures are endowed with an intuition of some sort; however, the stereotypically straight man tends to lose touch with this intuition because of social repression. -- If someone likes to crossdress, people pick up on subconscious hints in reference to such things and associate them with other deviations from stereotyped gender roles based on the so called social norms, and start wondering if one is gay. -- Some straight guys might get a kick out of confusing the hell out of people, considering how the feeble nature of the human mind is designed to think quickly by sacrificing thoroughness and making assumptions out of previously established patterns, but for the most part, it's unfair to be branded as something you're not. ----- Hence the outspoken frustration by some effeminate guys, which could also be (mis)interpreted as denial. Speaking from my psych background, I know how difficult it is to find conclusive info when based purely on idiosyncrasies. ----- -- Oh by the way, women who've been brought up well (not messed up in the head or anything) appreciate gay and metro males. It's not necessarily the ego trip of "making a man out of the gay guy". Women have emotional needs which the stereotypical male would be hardpressed to cater to, and sensitive guys are usually willing to bend over for them. On that note, I also prefer to hang out with girls, gay men, and other Metros.

I am spanish, Puerto Rican to be exact and when I first saw my now boyfriend...WHO has his eye brows shaped wears top of the line clothes I didnt think anything of it. For one in Puerto Rico men are doing the eye brows and taking much better care of themselves but its not only there its every where and its about time. Its nice when I can go out with my boyfriend and I dont have to worry about his apperence. Men are not scared to smell great look awesome and feel good about it. My brother is also all about looking good "the ladies like it" lol. He is comfortable with who he is...although its kinda scary when a man makes a comment cus then...my brother brother shows him how much of a man he really is. I think the real issue is why people have to lable every thing. Its like if people cant but a finger on it then its scares them...People should just be confident... if you are a women dating a man who you think is too much of a girl, I ask myself "didnt you notice that before?" Maybe ladys are scared that there boyfriends look better then them.

i used to be the most homophobic person ever and all my friends said it was just wrong to hate the gays, so I stoped and started to change. I started to dress nice all the time and take care of myself and do I dare say moistureize eveything and I am a stright man and I got to tell u ive never been happier or more comfortable with myself then I am being metro and another thing omg women love this

I'm glad the term exists, because I think I am a metrosexual. I have always been straight, never really felt anything towards other men, and love being around women. But in recent years (maybe it's a mid-life crisis - I am almost 50) I have become more adventurous in my dress sense. I wear lots of chunky gold jewellery - rings on most fingers, heavy bracelets, and thick chains. I also have began wearing tight leather trousers, and skimpy vests. Women I know like my new 'image', but I've noticed I'm starting to attract men. I have to confess I enjoy the attention. A guy in a sports car stopped the other day, and started chatting. It was clear he wanted me. I was very tempted and have been aroused thinking about it. I don't want the full works, but it would be nice to experience my other side - kisses, touching, umutual masturbation etc. Is this common ? Should I stop dressing so provocatively ? I am curious but confused. Rocky

Some women above in the article said, that they think metrosexuals should just call themselves gay because no woman would want a guy like that. I beg to differ because a lot of women like to have guys more like them and able to me more in tune, I for instance love metrosexual guys, although they are more feminine than I am..They are in tune a lot with certain feelings and able to look deeper into it or have a better understanding, also they always want to keep a neat appearance which should be nothing to complain about on womens part..

I am a completely heterosexual male and but am also a metrosexual. I believe that metrosexuality has more to do with the way someone dresses/takes care of themselves rather than their sexual preference
