That's right, no sexual preference. It's not relevant, and it's none of your business, anyway. The same with gender. And what's with that "other" crap? - Now, it's like this, gang. The only reason a hetero guy would indulge in this “metrosexual” crap is to try to appear "seeeensitive" to the feminist "pliiiight". "To what end", the typical sensitive and tolerant elitist know-it-all would ask. Duh. The same reason a lounge-lizard would use cheesy pick-up lines in a bar, to open up his horizons to the possibility of getting cheap sex. Look, I've known of and heard of many guys getting lucky with some feminist skank he met in a bookstore or library, with suitable protection, of course, just by appearing to browse through the Women's Literature section. Same crap, different approach. This creative tactic has a distinct advantage, though. With exception of “travel expenses”, it’s cheap. A lot cheaper than a cover charge and definitely cheaper than two hours at a beauty parlor. And, if the stupid slut is bi or lesbian, he might get two for price of one. What a bargain! - It comes down to this. You don’t have to be, and probably can’t be a Macho Pig to find a real woman that not only wants to shear her life, but her body as well with you. It’s easy, be a real man, not a girly-boy, either. If not, find a porn site and spank it. It’s the same result. And you don’t have to waste your money and time at a bar or a beauty parlor, either. - Oops, did I say something that would cut down on the chances of some pierced ear, lipstick wearing, fingernail polish sporting, manicured moron getting laid tonight. Bring it on, I am so ready for the new male to arise. My man is definitely in that category. His look is important to him, but there is so much more to it than vanity. Its about being open to your self's expression and that of other men and women. The 'metro' is capable of integrating tolerance, of appreciating ambivalence. He is mature and playful, and quite intelligent and aware. Self-possessed is the word that comes to mind, with the ability to define one's self according to higher ideals than those currently espoused by the dominant culture. He embodies the male and the female. Frankly, as an older woman (48) with a younger partner (29) I am sometimes threatened by his frankly universal appeal. However, he is still constrained by the cultural imperative to 'be a Man'. Which means he's not allowed to wear nail polish to work, or any of the skirts he wears around the house. We know that if he went out as he likes to dress, other 'men' might feel the need to 'adjust his attitude', i.e.; beat the _____ out of him. As a woman, I find him incredibly sexy and comfortable. As a woman I would like to personally throttle any guy who hassles him. And as a woman, I would really like to see lots more metro's in town.
